Marketing Division Overview

Marketing is fundamentally concerned with the process by which individuals, households, or organizations adopt, maintain, or discard patterns of behaviour. Marketing management consists of a system of interrelated activities that seeks to understand present and potential users and usage systems in detail, to develop products and services that are appropriate for the selected market segments, and to determine and implement price, distribution, and communication strategies.

The Marketing Division at the Sauder School of Business is a recognized leader in Canada in the discipline of marketing. We are a dynamic group of scholars and business professionals with expertise in a variety of fields including marketing channels, marketing research, pricing and promotions, services, social marketing, and consumer behaviour. We are a highly productive research group, ranking number one in Canada in publications in major marketing journals. Our faculty members are also award winning teachers, devoted to helping students develop their understanding of the marketing field and aiding in their pursuit of their own career aspirations.
